Faithfulness in the Waiting
Jeremiah 38–40 · Psalm 119:129–152

TODAY’S DEVOTION
Waiting is where faith grows roots. Jeremiah did not receive a shortcut; he received the sustaining presence of God. Psalm 119 reminds us that light enters as God’s Word is opened and received. When the outcome remains unclear, faithfulness is not passive. It is the daily choice to keep the heart soft, obey what God has already spoken, and trust His character more than our timetable.
You may not yet see how the Lord will resolve what concerns you, but you can still walk in the light He has already given. Do not let delay become permission to drift. Return to the Word, guard what He has placed in your heart, and take the next obedient step. God is working in the waiting, and He is also working within the one who waits faithfully.

The KJV’s “entrance” carries the sense of an opening or unfolding. Light comes as God’s words are opened and received, not merely glanced at.
Psalm 119 is an extended meditation on God’s Word. Verses 129–136 join wonder, obedience, longing, illumination, and grief over disobedience. Jeremiah 38–40 shows costly faithfulness amid national collapse.
