Our heart

Time with God can change a life.

My Daily Altar was created by a family who loves Jesus and believes that time spent with God can change a life.

Why My Daily Altar exists

Our purpose is simple: to help people open the Bible, reflect on the truth of the gospel, and make space for daily devotion and prayer. We are encouraged by every person who shares a love for the things of God and a desire to know Him more deeply.

These devotions are rooted in Scripture and the truth of His Word. They are offered with humility, careful review, and the sincere hope that people from every background will spend more time with God and carry His truth into their daily lives.

How each devotion is prepared

Scripture leads every devotion. The Bible-in-a-year reading determines the day’s subject, and every published reading follows the same safeguards.

01

Begin with the assigned passage

We do not begin with a motivational idea and search for a verse to support it.

02

Read in context

The surrounding chapters, historical setting and place in the larger witness of Scripture are considered before application is written.

03

Verify deeper details

Any Hebrew or Greek term is checked against its cited verse, lemma and reference. The explanation must agree with the passage’s context before it is approved.

04

Apply faithfully

The practical response must flow from the text without replacing its meaning or promising an outcome Scripture does not promise.

05

Review before publishing

Scripture quotations, biblical context and faithfulness to the truth of God’s Word are reviewed before the devotion is scheduled. Spanish editions receive an additional bilingual review for meaning and excellence.
