Your time with God is personal.
My Daily Altar collects only what is needed to provide the features you choose. Access to the daily devotion does not require an account or email address.
Email access and reminders
If you create an account or choose reminders, we store your name, email address, selected cadence, preferred time, time zone and whether you requested occasional faith-resource updates. Secure sign-in links expire after 15 minutes and may be used once. We do not sell your email address. Every reminder provides a way to unsubscribe.
Prayer requests
Submitting a prayer request requires an email address, a short public handle and your consent to display the request after review. The email address is never shown publicly. Requests are screened, rate-limited and held for approval before appearing on the Prayer Wall.
Invitations and Altar Circles
A personal invitation stores the sender’s first name and the devotion or study selected; My Daily Altar does not collect the recipient’s email address or phone number. Private Altar Circles store the circle name, members’ first names, selected study, pace, start date and lesson-completion markers. Anyone holding an unlisted circle link may request to join, so hosts should share it only with intended participants. Private journal entries are never shared with a circle.
Private reflection and progress
Without an account, progress and reflections remain in your browser. When you sign in, your existing device record is securely joined with your account so it can follow you across devices. Reflections remain private, are never displayed publicly, and are not shared with an Altar Circle. You may request account deletion at any time.
Anonymous readership analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand which pages and resources are useful, how readers find My Daily Altar and how the site performs. We have disabled Google advertising signals and ad-personalization signals. Analytics information is used to improve this ministry resource; it is not used to sell personal information or score anyone’s spiritual activity.
Abuse prevention
To reduce spam, prayer submissions, invitations, sign-in requests and circle creation may be rate-limited. Some public submission tools use a one-way technical fingerprint derived from the requesting internet address; it is not displayed publicly.
