TODAY’S DEVOTION
The psalmist does not hide his affliction or pretend that remembering Scripture removes every painful feeling. He brings both realities before God: “See what I am carrying” and “I have not forgotten Your law.” Faith is not denial. It is choosing where to turn while distress is still real.
God’s attention is not diminished by the weight or complexity of your circumstances. He sees what others overlook and understands what you cannot fully explain. Keep truth close enough to answer fear before fear becomes your only narrator. Remembering the Word does not manipulate God into acting on our schedule; it anchors us in who He is while we ask honestly for help. You are not forgotten, and your prayer is not disappearing into silence.

“Consider” is not a distant glance. The Hebrew verb commonly means to see or look upon; the psalmist appeals to God’s attentive regard.
The final section of Psalm 119 repeatedly joins suffering with continued loyalty to God’s law. Jeremiah 41–44 likewise records people seeking a word from God while wrestling with whether they will obey it.
