Called Into Fellowship
Jeremiah 49–50 · 1 Corinthians 1
“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.”

TODAY’S DEVOTION
Paul begins addressing a divided and immature church by reminding them of God’s faithfulness and their shared calling in Jesus Christ. Before he corrects their conduct, he returns them to their identity. They were not called merely to admire Jesus from a distance or collect information about Him. They were called into fellowship—shared life with the Lord who had saved them.
Christian devotion is not another task laid beside the rest of life. It is time made for communion with Jesus so that every other part of life can come under His lordship. Prayer, Scripture, worship, and obedience are not methods for earning His nearness. They are ways we respond to the relationship He initiated. Before asking what you must accomplish today, receive the greater invitation: abide with Him.
