Standing When He Speaks
Ezekiel 1–3
“And the spirit entered into me when he spake unto me, and set me upon my feet, that I heard him that spake unto me.”

TODAY’S DEVOTION
Ezekiel fell before the overwhelming glory of God, but the same divine presence that humbled him also enabled him to stand. God did not ask the prophet to manufacture courage. The Spirit entered him, established him, and made him able to hear. A genuine encounter with God never makes us self-important; it makes us yielded and ready.
The Holy Ghost still gives strength for assignments that exceed human ability. We do not stand because the audience is receptive or because the task is comfortable. We stand because God has spoken and His Spirit supplies what obedience requires. Before asking for a clearer platform, a quicker answer, or an easier field, let the Lord settle your heart before Him. His presence can put you on your feet, and His Word can keep you faithful there.

רוּחַ · rûaḥ · H7307
Rûaḥ can mean spirit, wind, or breath. In Ezekiel 2:2 it describes the divine enablement that enters the prophet and raises him to receive God’s commission.
Ezekiel 1 opens with a vision of God’s mobile throne-glory among the exiles. Chapters 2–3 move from revelation to commission: Ezekiel must receive the scroll, speak God’s words, and serve as a watchman whether the people listen or refuse.
