More Than What You Built
Ezekiel 25–27
“And say unto Tyrus, O thou that art situate at the entry of the sea, which art a merchant of the people for many isles, Thus saith the Lord GOD; O Tyrus, thou hast said, I am of perfect beauty.”

TODAY’S DEVOTION
Tyre was impressive by every visible measure. Its trade, skill, influence, and beauty drew the attention of nations. But success became self-definition, and self-admiration hid dependence upon God. What looked unsinkable could not sustain a soul—or a city—when judgment exposed its foundation.
Achievement is a gift, but it is a poor identity. Your value is not secured by what you have built, earned, organized, or attracted. Gratitude receives success without worshiping it. Hold every accomplishment with open hands, give God the glory, and let character matter more than image. The life that remains dependent on Jesus can prosper without being possessed by prosperity.

Yōp̄î means beauty or splendor. Tyre treated cultivated beauty as proof of permanence, while the lament reveals how quickly external glory can collapse.
Ezekiel 25–27 turns from Jerusalem to surrounding nations. The lament over Tyre portrays a magnificent commercial ship whose wealth, workers, and global reach all sink together.
