His Name Is Jesus

Malachi 4 · Matthew 1–2

“Thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”

Matthew 1:21 KJV

TODAY’S DEVOTION

The New Testament opens by naming both the Savior and His mission: Jesus will save His people from their sins. He is not merely an example added to an improved life; He is the saving center of the gospel. Bring Him more than admiration. Call on His name, turn from sin, trust His grace, and let His lordship reach the decisions of ordinary life.
