At His Word, Step
Matthew 12–14
“And he said, Come. And when Peter was come down out of the ship, he walked on the water, to go to Jesus.”
Matthew 14:29 KJV
TODAY’S DEVOTION
Peter's courage was not confidence in water but confidence in the One who said, Come. Faith takes its next step because Jesus is trustworthy. This is not a call to religious performance, but to a sincere response of faith and obedience to Jesus Christ. Let the truth move from the page into the choices, words, and relationships of this day.

Context for careful reading.
ἔρχομαι · erchomai · G2064
Erchomai means to come or go. Jesus' command, Come, turned Peter's attention and movement toward Him.
Matthew 12–14 presents this truth within the unfolding ministry of Jesus and the response He calls for. The selected verse should be read with the surrounding chapter so its promise and command remain joined to the passage.
